The 80’s Jam was held on June 9 as a benefit for The David Z Foundation. Started in memory of the late Trans-Siberian Orchestra bassist David Z, the award-winning Foundation aims to instill a passion for music in kids while providing them with engaging music education opportunities and funding, putting together collaborations between kids and veteran music industry professionals and developing programs within academic school settings as well as music schools, both across the country and internationally. MisplacedStraws.com is a proud sponsor of the David Z Foundation.
Led by Paulie Z, the Jam featured superstars like Corey Glover (Living Colour), and Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai), Long Island-based bands, and musicians from all over the northeast. As most Foundation jam nights do, this night also started off with a set from the kids at School of Rock, a few of whom also popped up through the night to perform with some of the other acts.
Below are photos showing the amazing talent on display. Please follow The David Z Foundation and 89 North to learn about upcoming Jam Nights!
