FATES WARNING biography, Destination Onward, released today!
Three-plus years in the making, Destination Onward – The Story of Fates Warning, is released today, July 15th. Author Jeff Wagner was given access to the band’s archives and spoke in depth with every member of the legendary progressive metal band, past and present.

Decibel magazine is offering a preview of the book, taken from Chapter FWII: The Omen Bird. You can read that right here:
https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2022/07/15/read-an-exclusive-excerpt-from-destination-onward-the-story-of-fates-warning-the-new-book-by-jeff-wagner/

And here are excerpts from some of the first reviews of Destination Onward:

“I can’t think of a more deserving band to receive the deluxe biography treatment that Wagner has so superbly delivered. Destination Onward has a very comprehensive feel, in that no one else will ever be able to write a book about the band that could match this. There are many semi-formal, unauthorized biographies of big bands such as Iron Maiden, where each author has an angle to retell a story that has already been told, but in this case, I don’t think anyone else could add much of value to top Wagner’s work. It would be almost pointless to try.”
– Joshua Wood, Metal Rules“This book has the information and power to make you experience the band as if you are there with them.  You are there as their story develops and unfolds…Destination Onward is guaranteed to make bigger Fates Warning fans out of its readers.” – Victor J. Giol, The Prog Report“Every aspect of Fates Warning’s career is richly presented and discussed with lots of quotes by all current and former band members and various companions (Steve Kachinsky, Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Tom Phillips, Brian Slagel, Bill Metoyer, etc.). Even when you are a fan for many years you can learn something new!”
– Michael Kohsiek, Deaf Forever“Readers can expect to learn a full account of the band’s journey – key lineup changes, album by album memories, tour stories, and behind the scenes information rarely revealed in depth until now, straight from the band members themselves and key musicians / industry people that have come to know and love the group. Jeff has a very comfortable pacing…it’s easy to now listen to the discography and understand the specific shifts the band would make record by record. Well-researched and a fascinating read, Destination Onward is an amazing chronicle of an elite progressive metal act.”
– Matt Coe, Dead RhetoricDestination Onward is 400 pages, including a 16-page color spread. It can be purchased directly here: www.fateswarningbook.comDistributors such as Metal Blade US, Laser’s Edge and Decibel magazine are also offering the book. PHD UK handles distribution for European territories.
