Ruf Records Drops Songs From The Road; New Live CD/DVD By Legendary Rocker Mitch Ryder
In March 2025, Berlin’s Frannz Club was transformed for one unforgettable night into a pulsating epicenter of rock ’n’ roll as legendary rock artist Mitch Ryder delivered a breathtaking performance, capturing the raw energy and emotional intensity for a brand-new live album. While the audio recordings were made in Berlin, the DVD footage was filmed earlier, in February 2025, in
Lindewerra, Thuringia — the home base of Ruf Records. Two special locations, united in one remarkable release.
The result is a powerful live document combining electrifying versions of Mitch Ryder’s timeless classics with new songs from his latest studio album. As the newest release in Ruf Records’ renowned “Songs From The Road” series, this CD/DVD set captures Mitch Ryder at his very best: passionate, uncompromising, and timeless. Songs From The Road will also be availalbe as an LP/DVD set.
Mitch Ryder is rock music icon, a living legend whose influence has shaped the course of American music history. Anyone tracing the roots and branches of the genre will agree: Mitch Ryder deserves a place on the imaginary Mount Rushmore of rock ’n’ roll. Most recently, Ryder drew widespread acclaim in 2024 with the live album The Roof Is On Fire (Ruf Records), recorded during his 2019/2020 tour. That same year also saw the
release of his studio album With Love, recorded in Detroit and produced by Don Was (Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Iggy Pop).
In February and March of 2026, the wait is finally over as Mitch Ryder returns to Europe with his “Songs From The Road” Tour. With a remarkable discography now exceeding thirty albums and a career spanning more than five decades, one thing is certain: Mitch Ryder is not just part of rock history —
he is rock history.
